City of Vista Planning Commission Public Hearing Notice

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of Vista, California, will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers at the Vista Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive, Vista, California, on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. to receive and consider all evidence and reports presented at said hearing and/or obtained previously relative to the following matter:

P23-0215 – Vista 1070 Apartments – AMB SSF, LLC.

The applicant, AMB SSF, LLC., is requesting a Site Development Plan to repurpose an existing commercial building into multi-family housing and construct two additional apartment buildings for a total of 96 apartment units, inclusive of eight very low-income units, on a 2.34 acre site with associated parking, landscaping, and site improvements located at 1070 S. Santa Fe Avenue (APN 180-310-15-00). The proposed project is categorically exempt from the requirement to prepare an environmental document pursuant to Section 15332 of the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines.

P24-0026 – Vista Development Code Amendments – Citywide – 3 Bedroom ADUs

The City of Vista is proposing to amend Vista Development Code Chapter 18.31, Accessory Dwelling Units, (ADUs) to allow for a maximum of three bedrooms in ADUs while maintaining an overall maximum square footage of 1,200 square feet. The proposed amendments to Chapter 18.31 of the Development Code would be applicable Citywide and are exempt pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3), the “Common Sense” exemption, because there is no possibility that proposed amendments may have a significant effect on the environment. The Planning Commission’s review of these proposed amendments, additions, and standards is advisory to the City Council.

P24-0027 – Vista Development Code Amendments – Citywide – Withdrawal of Deemed Inactive Applications

The City of Vista is proposing to amend Vista Development Code Chapter 18.04, General Requirements to allow an administrative process for withdrawal of applications that have been deemed inactive and to refund unused fees. The proposed amendments to chapter 18.04 of the Development Code would be applicable Citywide and are exempt pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3), the “Common Sense” exemption, because there is no possibility that proposed amendments may have a significant effect on the environment. The Planning Commission’s review of these proposed amendments, additions, and standards is advisory to the City Council.
