Oceanside, CA — The Santa Margarita Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, recently held their annual student awards meeting, Regent Charla Boodry presiding. Alida Woodward and Mary Catherine Kirby, DAR American History Essay Contest Co-Chairs, introduced the program by describing the essay topic, “The Voyage of the Mayflower”, and outlining some of the requirements.  Mrs. Woodward introduced the three winners who each read her essay:  Phoebe Lee, Fifth Grade; Carly Glass, Sixth Grade, and Molly Glass, Eighth Grade.  The three students attend St. Patrick Catholic School.  Each was presented with a Chapter winner certificate, an award check and an American History pin.
