Troy Huhn’s 2 touchdown passes leads Mission Hills to a Discovery Bowl win over rival San Marcos
Excelsior Stadium -Mission Hills 35 -San Marcos Knights 7– In a traditional rival game between the Grizzlies of Mission Hills and the San Marcos Knights for the Discovery Bowl Trophy, the Grizzlies came out after the game tied 7-7 scored 28 second half points as they defeated the Knights by a 35-7 score as they won their 4th game in a row along with their 5th Discovery Bowl Trophy. San Marcos won their last Discovery Bowl Trophy was in 2018 as they defeated the Mission Hills by a 38-7 score.
Mission Hills jumped out to a 7-0 lead as Jacob Imoto ran 35 yards for an interception return. The Knights tied the game at 7-7 as Tibari Lane rushed for 85 yards, scored on a 7 yard run.
The Grizzlies took control of the game in the second half on touchdown performances by Curtis Johnson rushed for 167 yards along with a 5 yarder , Giovani Hartzel’s 67 yard run, ran for 167 yards, Troy Huhn threw for 128 yards with 2 touchdown passes of 19 and 12 yards to receiver Ryder Ridell
