David A. Willauer-Contributing Writer-El Camino High School-Oceanside, CA-11-4-22: The El Camino Wildcats have improved their record at 8-3 on the season behind Ray Taele 107 yard rushing along with 2 touchdown runs of 25 and 19 yards as they defeated the Scripps Ranch Falcons by a 35-6 score.
Devin Cerda Johnson contributed on a 5 yard touchdown run, Tate Reid scored on a 1 yard touchdown run and caught a 52 yard touchdown pass from Quarterback Carson Howard 106 yards passing.
Tate Reid on his performance vs. Scripps Ranch: “In the second quarter we pulled things together our quarterback threw ball and the line blocked well focusing on Helix.”
Michael Hobbs Head Football Coach of El Camino: “As a team we’re coming together and playing the best football, we need to prepare for Helix next week.” “Tonight vs. Scripps Ranch we took care of business but our mindset is to keep progressing in the game, despite the penalties that cost us we have to focus on the next play.”
“Tate Reid has been our captain all year long and being our go to person, he’s done everything that I told him. On offense, defense and special teams he is that special person that steps up to get everyone else to fall in line.. He is the one that deals with the other players on the field, and an all around leader on our team.” said coach Hobbs
” When I played football at El Capitan, I played against Reggie Bush and Alex Smith we lost to Helix in the semi finals last year but looking forward to get revenge. said Coach Hobbs
With the win El Camino improves to 8-3 on the season and will travel to Helix High School in a 11-11-22 for a 7 PM kickoff.
