   Encinitas, CA –EcoFest Volunteer Kickoff Event on Sunday, March 20 at 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. in person at Cottonwood Creek Park in Encinitas.

The City of Encinitas, Civic Sparks Fellowship, Surfrider, I Love A Clean San Diego, EDCO and EcoFest Encinitas, an annual one-day event dedicated to spreading awareness of and inspiring eco-sustainability, is hosting its 2022 volunteer kick-off event to recruit volunteers to support this year’s EcoFest event on October 9, 2022.

Individuals interested in environmental causes can play a pivotal role and co-create this fun-filled festival annual event showcasing sustainable solutions for our community and promoting healthy living. Come and meet climate action leaders, connect with the local community and enjoy music, food and beverages.

EcoFest Encinitas is a fun-for-all-ages annual event presented by Encinitas Environment Day Inc. a volunteer-driven 501(c)3 non-profit founded to inspire meaningful, transformational experiences in sustainability.

About EcoFest ..Founded in 2005, EcoFest is the longest-running environmental fair in North County, San Diego, founded by local environmental activist Bob Nanniga. The annual volunteer-run festival is a free family-friendly one-day event featuring local green businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and schools. EcoFeset is hosted by the City of Encinitas and sponsored by San Diego Community Power, EDCO Waste and Recycling Services, San Diego Gas & Electric, and the Leichtag Foundation. EcoFest expects to attract approximately 1500 attendees and host about 50 exhibitors and vendors, including local businesses, government agencies, and environmental agencies, including the local Rotary and EcoRotary clubs, Sierra Club, the Encinitas 101 Mainstreet Association, the San Diego Library system, and others. Hosted by the City of Encinitas, EcoFest is sponsored by San Diego Community Power, EDCO Waste and Recycling Services, San Diego Gas & Electric, and the Leichtag Foundation. This volunteer-driven event is designed to encourage environmental awareness and inspire attendees to adopt eco-friendly practices that help them save money and the planet. The event highlights eco-friendly products, services, and practices by the City of Encinitas, eco-friendly organizations, businesses, schools, and individuals living in North County, San Diego.

The free family-oriented event aims to educate and entertain while showcasing Cottonwood Creek Park, developed with sustainability in mind. Activities include a recycled art activity, poetry, art, music, project displays by local school districts, bike rodeo, and more. Electric vehicles will be on display, a bike valet will offer secure bike parking for attendees, and electric bike test rides will be available. The event will be rounded out with food, music, and a libations lounge.
