Monday Motivation
“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said, ‘Faster horses.’” – Henry Ford.

Sometimes it takes a person… someone willing to go against the grain, ruffle a few feathers, endure the criticism, to chart the path that changes the future for the better. These aren’t the followers, these are the leaders.

A leader is the first to crest the hill of possibility and see the view of progress. Their job is to “vision-cast” to the followers, to motivate the doubters, and to crest the hill together as a team.

Cheers to the leaders!

Tuesday Dinner
Last year, Chef James Leitholf and his team of cooks tested a variety of hand-formed Angus beef burgers that were made to order. They were a huge hit! Our Tuesday dinner tomorrow night is going to revisit that event.

James and his team are once again making hand-formed burgers with homemade potato salad and Coleslaw. A variety of cheeses and fixings are available, as well.

Each burger is cooked to order so please be patient. A meal this good takes time to make… and $10. Enjoy the music of Restless Natives starting at 5pm on the RV Park Patio.

RV Park Parking
This brings me to a very important item… The RV Park parking area is for registered RV guests only.  We are having more events on the RV Park patio because it’s such a wonderful venue.  The problem is that our members have been parking there instead of the paved areas, which takes up the spaces meant for our registered RV guests.  Please park in the paved areas.  This is by direction of the Board of Directors, and we thank you!

Volunteer Appreciation Ice Cream Social
Are you a volunteer at our Lodge? Join us for Steak Night this coming Thursday and get a FREE Ice Cream treat as our way of saying “thanks for all you do!”

If you’re not yet a volunteer, sign up to serve in an area of your choice and you can get a FREE Ice Cream treat, too!

We love our volunteers!

Purple Pig Races and CHEA President’s Dinner
Here are two District-wide events that are worth going to; the annual Purple Pig Races and our CHEA President visitation.

Sharron Cannon, PER and Member Piggy Bank District Committee emailed me with the following information:

“Our State President, Jay Larkins, and his wife Ginger will be visiting South Coast District August 27th & 28th. One of the activities he will be attending is our Annual District Piggy Bank Races and Major Project Fundraiser Event that will take place at El Cajon Lodge on August 27, 2021 at 5:00PM.

At this event, there will be an opportunity to win donated prizes, from each Lodge. As the Major Project Chairs for your Lodges, I am requesting your help with the sale of the tickets, manning the prize table, and assisting with the drawings.

If you have never attended this yearly event then this is a must! Since this event will begin in the late afternoon, tacos will be served for dinner. The cost is $10. And there will be a great band for dancing on the patio.”

The CHEA President’s Dinner will be the next night, the evening of August 28. I don’t have all the information on the dinner yet but if you’re interested in attending, please call the Lodge office or reply to this email and I will keep you informed.

I will be at both events. Come join me!

Have a great week, friends! ER David
