Monday Motivation
“Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in.” – Bill Bradley

You can have lots of ambition but if you don’t persist when the going gets tough then you will never reach success.  I’m sure we have many members at our Lodge who are living examples of this truth.  Congratulations to you all!

Labor Day Luau
Last Monday’s Labor Day Luau was so much fun!  It was greatly supported by our members, the RV Park was full, and a number of our district leaders and fellow ERs from other Lodges joined us for the fun!  The Hawaiian Hula dancers put on a great show, and the band played all the party favorites.

Thanks to the Elks of the Year, the Trustees, the F&B staff, and all the many volunteers who made this fun day possible!

Monday Night Football
Tonight, we “kickoff” our MNF watch parties.  Not everyone is into NFL Football… I get that. But if you are… we have a FREE Chili Dog with cheese and onions, with your name on it!  Enjoy a cold beer and watch the game with friends!  The Club opens at 3pm. The game starts at 5pm.

Tuesday Dinner
Our Tuesday night dinners are doing about 5 times better attended than they were pre-COVID.  This has a lot to do with the variety and quality of food, the venue, the live music, and the event leadership.  If you have not yet been to a Tuesday dinner at the Swim Step Bar (in the RV Park), you should try it tomorrow.

This week’s menu includes your choice of pork shoulder, ribs, or brisket, with Coleslaw, potato salad, and a roll for $12. Restless Natives will also be playing.

The After Party
This week’s After Party features one of the most sought-after bands in all of San Diego… Bonneville 7.  Their high-energy Rockabilly and blues sound is great for dancing and/or just listening.  We’re expecting a big crowd for the After Party so make your reservations right away.

5-8pm  Dinner and Dancing to Bell Pepperz
8-11pm  The After Party featuring Bonneville 7

Help Needed
Our Club Manager let me know that we have an urgent need for a Dishwasher/Food Runner/Busser.  This is a paid position and would be great for a high schooler or college student with tons of energy.  If you know someone who would be a good fit, have them call Sandra Kay at 760-942-3778 right away.

Purple Pig Pasta Party – September 25
The Purple Pig Pasta Party on September 25th is almost completely sold out!  If you haven’t purchased your ticket yet, call the office right now!

The Purple Pig supports children’s therapies in our local area.  Come eat some pasta, enjoy yourself, and help out kids in our community!

Oktoberfest – October 9
This is Oktoberfest as it should be, complete with German foods, desserts, Biergarten, and even a German Oompah band.  This will be the biggest party of the year… so far!  Seriously, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get 300 people at this event!

The festival will take place on the Beasley and Garden Patios with long Biergarten-style table seating.  Bring your favorite stein, wear your best German Lederhosen, and come ready to have a great time!

Saturday, October 9 at 4pm

Have a great week, friends!
