People are going to talk about you… sometimes good, sometimes bad… sometimes behind your back, sometimes to your face. Some will like what you do, some will not. It’s all a part of the path to success.
What I love about today’s quote is that it doesn’t focus on the brick throwers, but on the successful person. You can’t change brick throwers and it isn’t worth trying. Instead, realize that negative energy is still energy. Use the energy they give you to provide motivation and propel yourself forward. The only person you can change is yourself.
Got Your Back
Calling all interested Elks that want to make a difference in a child’s life.
The Lodge is partnering up with “Got Your Back” to fill backpacks for low-income children who would go without food over the weekend if this program was not in place.
Our commitment is once a month on the second Tuesday. Our first night is Tuesday, October 12th. We need at least four to five people to meet at their warehouse in Oceanside to fill backpacks.
It should only take two hours tops. Please contact Pat Raetz @ 760-757-4973 if you can help.

Monday – MNF
Monday Night Football has the Chargers hosting the Raiders. Who do you like? Stop by and watch the game with friends.
Tuesday – No Bingo or Karaoke
This is your chance to catch your breath before the action begins.
Wednesday – Dinner and Karaoke
This is our usual (and very popular) Karaoke night and open menu. Join DJ Pat for a night of music.
Thursday – DD Visitation
Join us as we welcome District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Carol Patton and First Lady Joy.
4:30pm Social Hour
5:30pm Dinner $15 per person
7pm Lodge Meeting with a special message from our DD
Friday – Dinner and Dance
This is our most popular night of the week. As usual, we feature a great menu with something for everyone. And this week, the band is the San Diego favorite, Urban Gypsys.
Saturday – Oktoberfest
Our Oktoberfest is complete with German foods, desserts, Biergarden, and even a German Oompah band. The party starts at 4pm and the cost is just $20. We’ll be outside on the Beasley Patio with the music and Biergarden on the Garden Patio. You don’t want to miss this! Space is limited and reservations are now being accepted. Call 760-724-1968.
Sunday – Breakfast
Our Sunday breakfast is consistently well-attended and popular. If you have never had breakfast at the Lodge, this Sunday is a great day to check it out.
LOL Swap Meet
Saturday, October 16 from 7am-2pm
Get an early start on your Spring cleaning. Make some money by renting a 20×15 space for $25.00 at the very popular LOL Swap Meet. It’s always well attended by the local community, as well as members.
