I especially love people who see potential and possibilities, as opposed to those who consistently see fear and doom. What will you see today? How will you respond to what you see? In the end, your attitude is your choice. Choose wisely. Protocol TrophyThis past Thursday night, Past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler and First Lady, John and Dee Harry, visited our lodge for a very special presentation. During our regular lodge meeting, I invited PDD John to the podium and he offered the following remarks, “I am here tonight to present the Protocol Trophy to the Vista lodge. Protocol is the particular customs, and regulations that are followed when a ceremony or an event is being conducted within our organization. Protocol is the constant, unchanging, and predictable foundation to each ceremony or event. It is the etiquette of how to properly interact with others during both formal and informal activities.The Elks have a long and grand history. Over time, traditions and rituals have been created that were unique to the Elks and handed down from generation to generation. The Grand Lodge recognized that a common set of customs and courtesies based upon those traditions and rituals are necessary to properly conduct our ceremonies Exalted Ruler David Workman, lodge Officers, and members. It is my honor to present the Protocol Trophy Award of Excellence for Protocol Etiquette, 2021 – 2022!” It was my great honor to accept the trophy on behalf of the Officers and members of our lodge. It will be on display for the next year for all to see. It is a traveling trophy so we will be doing our best to live up to all it represents and earn it again next year! Young MarinesThe young men and women that make up the San Diego North County Young Marines are having a fundraiser at our lodge on Sunday, March 20th.You are likely familiar with the Young Marines because they are welcomed co-workers in our tasks and events throughout the year. This is our chance to return the favor.The Spaghetti Fundraiser will be from 4pm to 8pm on the 20th with our own Chef James doing the cooking. Tickets are just $10. Tickets will be available in the office. Tuesday DinnerThere’s no need to make dinner tomorrow night. We’ve got you covered.
