Monday Motivation
“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” – Arthur Ashe

I have found that the greatest things happen when your back is up against a wall and have nowhere else to go.  At that point, you’re “all in.”  You have no choice but to use what you have and do what you can.  The trick is to go “all in” before your back is up against the wall.
Just start.  Don’t wait for the timing to be perfect, because it will never be perfect.

Thank You!
This past Friday night’s dinner had a huge crowd and kudos are definitely in order.  Thanks to our office staff who handle all the incoming reservations and food requests.  Keeping it all straight is quite a job!

You may not realize this but most of the food orders come into the kitchen with a 60-90 minute window.  That’s 100+ entrees!  That’s a tall order because we’re NOT a restaurant… we’re an Elks Lodge that serves food to our members and guests.  There’s a huge difference. Thank you for being patient!

Thanks to Chuy and our cooking staff who were put to the test with orders on Friday.  In fact, two of our Trustees jumped in at the last minute to help prepare and plate the entrees.  Thank you to Tom and Al for helping out!

Thanks to our bartenders, waitresses, food runners, and greeters for all your help and hard work!

Friday Seating
As I mentioned, we’ve had great crowds for our Friday night dinners.  This past Friday night, we had reservations for nearly 100… and it’s only going to get bigger as we move into spring.  Thankfully, our Beasley Patio is now able to accommodate more tables in the covered/heated area.

With these crowds, it’s important that you get your reservations in to the Lodge office early.  Also, let them know if you’re planning on having Prime Rib or Lobster so we don’t run out.

I had the Shrimp Scampi for the first time last Friday and it was excellent!  I’ve also heard a rumor that Sandra, our Club Manager, will be trying out some hors d’oeuvres on Friday night.  I’ll keep you posted.

Friday Music
We’ve had many wonderful comments about the music groups on Friday nights.  Here’s a list for the next few weeks.  You can also see this information on the Vista Elks App.

March 12 – Crossroads Acoustic

March 26 – Urban Gypsys Duo
