Escondido, CA December, 2023 –Escondido Art Association (EAA) along with local non-profit, Love
Esco are promoting love this February with events in support of the community and by promoting art by
local artists. The theme for EAA’s February Exhibition is “Seeing Red!” Classically trained Russian artist,
Igor Koutsenko will be judging this exhibition to celebrate love and the color most associated with it.
Koutsenko will also serve as the demonstration artist for EAA’s Live Art Demo in collaboration with the
California Center for the Arts Escondido Foundation.

EAA will take-in art on Saturday, February 3, from 11am – 4pm at the EAA Gallery located at 121 W. Grand Avenue in Historic Downtown Escondido. The EAA will host a demo (free and open to the public) featuring Igor Koutsenko’s live painting demonstration on Thursday, February 8 at 6:30pm at the California Center for the Arts Escondido Museum located at 340 N. Escondido Blvd., Escondido, CA 92025. The EAA will also host a reception on Saturday, February 10 from 4-6:30pm at EAA’s gallery where the winners of the exhibition will be announced. The EAA Gallery Reception is also free and open to the public.

Koutsenko’s work is currently in the collection at the Riverside Art Museum, as well as numerous private
collections. Koutsenko has taught fine art throughout his career, serving early on as a Professor at the
University of Central Oklahoma. Now a resident of Fallbrook, CA, he teaches drawing and painting classes at the Fallbrook School of The Arts and produces original art in his private studio.

“Igor has been teaching our Open Studio Classes, sharing his expertise with our membership. Serving as
judge for this exhibition, he brings his unique background of rigorous training in Russian realist art and
years of painting experience, greatly benefiting our membership,” said Tokeli Baker, President of EAA.

As a reminder, art take-in is on the first Saturday of every month, 11am-4pm. Please see EAA’s website
at https://escondidoartassociation.org/ for details about submission procedures for artists. “As we move from theme to theme each month, EAA brings in artists of different backgrounds and specializing in a variety of mediums to judge members’ art and provide new perspectives for our members,” says Baker.

About EAA: Established in 1959, The Escondido Art Association has long been dedicated to promoting fine arts in the community of Escondido. Led by a Board of nine members, the EAA is committed to supporting a thriving and creative art community by providing members and non-members alike the opportunity to show their work. EAA hosts monthly shows, teaches art classes, workshops, provides scholarships to local high school students, and features member artwork in the downtown gallery and in local businesses. Well established with professional artists, the monthly show is judged, and awards are given to those who place in each medium. The live art demonstrations are always free and open to the public as a community offering.
