Vehicle versus pedestrian collision under investigation.

On Friday, March 17 just after 8:00 p.m., deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station, as well as the Vista Fire Department, responded to a traffic collision involving a Ford Escape and an adult male pedestrian near the intersection of Taylor Street and Cresthaven Drive in Vista. 

The vehicle was traveling westbound on Taylor Street when it struck a man who was crossing just east of the intersection. He was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

At this time, it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The Vista Sheriff’s Station’s Traffic Division is handling the investigation.

Colisión de vehículo contra peatón bajo investigación.

El viernes 17 de marzo, justo después de las 8:00 p.m., los oficiales del Vista Sheriff’s Station, así como el Departamento de Bomberos de Vista, respondieron a una colisión de tráfico que involucró a un Ford Escape y un peatón adulto cerca de la intersección de Taylor Street y Cresthaven Drive en Vista.

El vehículo viajaba hacia el oeste por Taylor Street cuando golpeó a un hombre que cruzaba justo al este de la intersección. Fue transportado al hospital donde murió a causa de sus heridas.

En este momento, se desconoce si el alcohol y/o las drogas fueron un factor en la colisión.

El conductor permaneció en la escena y está cooperando con los investigadores.

La División de Tráfico del Vista Sheriff’s Station está a cargo de la investigación.
