Every April, we celebrate the Month of the Military Child, a time to honor the resilience and sacrifices of the more than 1.6 million military children in our country. Nonprofit Foundation for Women Warriors focuses not only on the needs of our women veterans, but also of their children.
64% of women veterans we serve have one or more children, and of those that receive financial assistance, 62% are single parents.
Childcare costs can be a huge expense for any family, but for military families and veteran moms who are transitioning out of the service, access to affordable childcare can dictate their ability to maintain their employment, housing, and provide for their children. The Foundation for Women Warriors Childcare Assistance program ensures our veterans’ children have safe and reliable care and can attend camp ensuring learning continues during school breaks. We also ensure these families do not go without necessities, like diapers, cribs, car seats, and strollers. By providing support for post-military childcare, addressing financial insecurity, and delivering resources that help children also adjust during the transition to civilian life, we ensure children thrive.
So, now through May 31st, 2024, Foundation for Women Warriors is calling on the country to help us raise $250,000. in support of our 2024 Childcare Campaign.
