Oceanside, CA –The Friends of the Oceanside Public Library’s 2nd Annual Amateur Photography Contest ended May 15, and the winners, runners-up and honorable mentions have been announced.
The theme of the contest was Capturing Your City: Urban Life, and the public was invited to share everyday encounters and random events in public spaces that best represent Oceanside to each participant.
The winners are:
Adults ages 21 and over
Winner: Shawn Daniels

- Image Location: The Strand
- Prize: A seven-day stay in October at the Casitas Del Monte in Palm Springs
Teens/Young Adults ages 14-20
Winner: Alice Villa
- Image Title: Reading in the Peace
- Image Location: Civic Center
- Prize: GoPro HERO9 Black Action Camera
Youth ages 0-13
Winner: Annika Akin
- Image Title: Harbor Swing
- Image Location: Camp Pendleton Park
- Prize: $150 Amazon Gift Card
The chosen images may be displayed at the Oceanside Civic Center and Mission Branch Libraries; at Jane and Evie’s Used Books, a Friends of the Oceanside Public Library bookstore; and featured on the contest website and in the Friends quarterly See Gull newsletter.
