December 1st – Sunset Strummers Ukulele Christmas Show at 11:00 a.m. in the Park Terrace Café. Stay for lunch! On the menu is sweet and sour meatballs, fried rice, tossed salad, and fruit salad. Mele Kalikimaka!

December 2nd – Dental Presentation at 11:30 a.m. in the Park Terrace Café. Given by Vista Community Clinic.

December 3rd – Toe Tappers Luncheon at 11:00 a.m. in the Park Terrace Café. The Toe Tappers are back with their annual Christmas show! Celebrate the season with our luncheon of rotisserie chicken, penne pasta Bolognese, herbed gravy, seasoned broccoli, tossed salad, and a cherry tart for dessert. Cookies and free coffee too!

December 4th – Culture Caravan Luncheon at noon in the Park Terrace Café. Join us for a sneak preview of the winter trip brochure and presentation at 11:00 a.m. Then enjoy meat loaf and gravy, Malibu vegetables, and berries and yogurt for dessert.

December 4th – Newcomers Recognition at noon in the Park Terrace Café. Join us as we recognize the newest members of our lunch nutrition program!

December 8th – Helping Your Parent Use Technology from 3-4:00 p.m. in the Azalea Room. Free class! The Gloria McClellan Center will host a free class for adults seeking to help their parents with technology. Given by Allen Farberov and his team from Greatcall. Snacks provided. Reserve at http://goo.gl/MGFAFB or call (760) 639-6162.

December 8th, 15th, and 22nd – Bingo for Prizes from 11:15 a.m. to 12 noon in the Park Terrace Café. Free! Come early to play a fun game of bingo and enjoy lunch at noon – participants need to register for lunch if they want to play. Bring a friend!

December 10th – Sell Your Wares is back at 10:00 a.m. in the Park Terrace Café. Make a little extra holiday cash or finish up your holiday shopping! Sell your crafts and treasures for a nominal table rental fee or stop by to shop. Rental proceeds benefit your senior center and you keep your profits. $5.00 for a card table or $10.00 for a 60 inch round table. To reserve your spot, see Maia in the administration office or call (760) 639-6162.

December 10th – Memory Lane with Maia at 11:30 a.m. in the Park Terrace Café. Gingerbread Men is the theme of this month’s “Memory Lane with Maia” activity. Join us for a fun walk down memory lane!

December 11th – Smartphone Class 102 from 10-11:00 a.m. in the Jasmine Room. Free! Allen Farberov and his Greatcall team is back and will show you how to use your phone! This class is for intermediate users. Reserve at (760) 639-6162.

December 11th – Senior Tsunami Presentation at 11:00 a.m. in the Park Terrace Café. Cathy Ellis will discuss housing senior care options.

December 17th – Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. in the Park Terrace Café. Senior Center volunteers are invited to a “thanks for all you do” holiday breakfast. Visit with your fellow volunteers and share a delicious meal. Please RSVP to Maia in the administration office or call (760) 639-6162.

December 18th – Yuletide Luncheon at noon in the Park Terrace Café. And Happy Birthday Frank Sinatra! Jason Lohrke will be here as Frank Sinatra singing a variety of Sinatra and holiday favorites! Have you been good this year? We may have a visit with someone from the North Pole! Enjoy honey baked ham, roast turkey, mashed yams, California blend vegetables, cornbread dressing, and holiday fruit salad! Merry Christmas!

December 18th – Birthdays & Anniversaries Celebration at noon in the Park Terrace Café. Presents and cake! Sign up clipboards are located in the lobby. Please sign up before the day of the event!

December 18th -Monthly Movie at 1:00 p.m. in the Azalea Room. Featuring “Mr. Holmes.” At the end of his life, Sherlock Holmes finally learns the primacy of love in solving three mysteries involving his last case, his bonds with a young boy and his mother, and a stranger whose life he affected years earlier in a thoughtless recommendation he finally reconciles. Free movie and refreshments! Closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

December 31st – New Year’s Toast at noon in the Park Terrace Café. Join us at 11:00 a.m. to enjoy the Palomar Jazz and at noon we’ll ring out the old and ring in the new. Happy New Year!

December 31st – New Year’s Celebration from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the Park Terrace Café. Featuring the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame Orchestra and Tad Kalkara on clarinet. Dinner will be your choice of champagne chicken or beef remoulade and will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by dancing and a New Year’s celebration. Cost is $15. RSVP to (760) 639– 6162 no later than Dec. 18th. Transportation available. Call for details.
