Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia HernándezThursday | March 10 | 7:30pm

Ballet Folklórico de Mexico returns to the Center as part of a multi-city US tour, with performances of classic choreography created over the company’s 70-year history. Founded in 1952 by dancer and choreographer Amalia Hernández, Ballet Folklórico brings together the music, dance, and costumes of Mexican folklore from pre-Colombian civilizations through the modern era. Composed of 76 talented folk dancers, the company has choreographed 40 ballets and makes its permanent home at one of Mexico City’s most historic venues, the Palacio de Bellas Artes. We hope you’ll join us, as this promises to be one performance you won’t want to miss!

This project received support from the California Arts Council, WESTAF (the Western States Arts Federation), and the National Endowment for the Arts.
