Jacobus Jens Obituary

1947-2022

Jacobus Jens passed away peacefully in his home in Vista on Monday, April 18, 2022.  Jacobus was born in 1947 in Gorinchem, Netherlands.  He and his family arrived to the United States in 1956.  He graduated from Vista High School, where he met his wife Bonney.  Although they were married for only a short time, they were together for over 50 years.  Jacobus served our country in the US Army, was deployed to Vietnam, and eligible for a Purple Heart.  After the military, he became a carpenter and general contractor and built several custom homes.  Later he became a building inspector and enjoyed using his skills to ensure buildings we “to code” and safe.  Jacobus had a tender heart, was a loving father and was a lifelong caretaker for Bonney.  He leaves behind four siblings, his two children, their spouses and his four grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed. 

Public Burial Services will be held on Monday, June 20 at 11:00 am at North County Cemetery 1021 Mulberry Drive, San Marcos, CA 92069, where his life will be honored and celebrated.
