Oceanside, CA -The Oceanside Public Library is excited to celebrate the life and works of Jane Austen this Jane-uary! Join the Library and the Jane Austen Society of North America San Diego Chapter (JASNA) at Bliss Tea and Treats, located at 301 Mission Avenue #101 in Downtown Oceanside on January 21 at 2:00 p.m. for a free discussion about the author, her life and her writings. Registration is required for this free event.
Nicole Odwazny, regional coordinator for the JASNA will host a conversation about Austen’s iconic works of literature and about life in Georgian Era England. Tea and scones will be provided by the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library at local tea room Bliss Tea and Treats. Bliss Tea and Treats is a locally-owned business with the goal of bringing an authentic artesian tea experience with a modern-day twist.
Books written by Jane Austen and movies based on her works are available for checkout at all library locations, and online in eBook and e-audio format. We recommend these titles: Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibility, The Wit and Wisdom of Jane Austen, Jane Austen: A Life, and The Jane Austen Society.
