Meet the Sculptor Ricardo Breceda Reception at Alta Vista Botanical Gardens June 12

Everyone is invited to meet the Sculptor Ricardo Breceda on Sunday June 12 at Alta Vista Botanical Gardens.  These Gardens are considered Vista’s hidden gem and are located at the top of the hill inside Brengle Terrace Park.  You may have seen Ricardo Breceda’s giant creations in Galleta Meadows in Borrego Springs, and now his creatures have arrived in Vista CA!

The public reception on June 12 from 2 to 3 pm will be a chance to meet the Sculptor Ricardo Breceda and tour the Gardens to see how Alta Vista Botanical Gardens volunteers are “Bringing Together People, Nature and Art.”  Breceda Receptionflyer

The “Serpent” sculpture in the Children’s Garden was supported by generous donations from the community.  Mayor Judy Ritter, The Woman’s Club of Vista GFWC, Virginia Hueth, and Don and Nancy B Jones sponsored portions of the undulating sculpture that appears to be swimming in a sea of asparagus fern.  Four of the other Breceda sculptures installed around the Gardens were purchased by the AVBG Board for permanent display.

Entry into the Gardens for the public reception will be free for AVBG members or $5 per person.

The afternoon will include a special opportunity to meet Ricardo at a private reception from 3 to 5 pm. Everyone is invited to buy tickets for this fundraiser event to support Vista’s own Botanical Gardens.
