Thank You To Vista Elks Lodge 1968: Thank you for sending me to the Grand Lodge Convention as your elected Exalted Ruler. It was an amazing experience. There were 6,038 in attendance, and repeating the Salute to the American Flag with that many committed Elks was really something.
Memorial Service Our Lodge will hold a Memorial Service for Shelly Howell on July 31 (her birthday). All officers are required to attend, and do the ritual. Staying True To What We Believe
All Elks must declare publicly their belief in God, or they cannot become an Elk. At Grand Lodge, this came up in several conversations with new ER’s and several PER’s, so I thought I’d clear the air on the subject.
Who is “God? “An easy way to reclaim true understanding is simply to return to your Bible, find the conversation between Moses and the LORD God in Exodus 20, where the LORD God gave us the 10 Commandments.
The 1st Commandment clearly instructs Moses (and all people): “I Am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of EGYPT, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before Me.” Jesus taught us that we are to love the LORD our God with all our heart and soul and strength and mind, and love our neighbor as ourselves.
