Bluegrass Camp for Kids, August 16-17-18, 2024

Summergrass San Diego announces a very special Bluegrass Kids Camp, which will take place August 16-17-18, 2024, during Summergrass San Diego at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum in Vista, Ca.

After June 29, registration is $65, until July 29, 2024.

This year’s main faculty band is Special Consensus, pictured above. All three fun-filled days will include instrument classes and stage performance classes. Kids Camp will conclude on Sunday with a 30-minute main stage finale performance where the Kids Camp kids are the stars! Each camp registrant will sign up for one of the following instrument classes.

Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin, Bass, Banjo, Singing.

We will put you in groups appropriate to your level of experience. You will learn something and have fun no matter what your level. But class sizes are limited, so the sooner you sign up, the better chance you have of being part of this great camp experience. Confirmed registrants will receive detailed information about the camp, what to bring, etc.

Tuition includes instructional materials and admission for the entire weekend. Scholarships are available for kids who need them – just check the scholarship box in the registration form to apply and a Summergrass Board member will contact you for further information and details on scholarship funding.

For more information, contact Kiana at events@agsem.org or call (760)-941-1791. Registration and Kids Camp tickets are also available at www.summergrass.net. Scroll down to the appropriate place.

Once again this year we are offering the ever popular instrument give away.

A Deering Goodtime Banjo package –

Local banjo maker, Deering Banjos, has donated a Goodtime banjo package, which includes a Deering Goodtime and a gig bag to keep your banjo out of the elements.

Deering has supported the festival since day one, 2003.

Note: If buying tickets by check please remember to make check out to AGSEM with a note in the memo line that it’s for Summergrass instrument give away.

The Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum is a non-profit museum & our festival location since Summergrass 2003. It offers a multitude of farm displays and nostalgic environments to visit like the model railroads, old time 1930s gas station, the weavers barn, the sawmill, the vintage clock display, and delicious food. Check out the museum at https://www.agsem.com.  In addition to our main stage bands and Kids Camp, Summergrass also offers our popular instrument raffle, music workshops, festival camping, jamming and just an all-around great weekend of music and fun! So, come on down!  Oh, Brother! That’s Good Bluegrass! Get your tickets now!  Click here for tickets, camping & more!

Summergrass has recently partnered with the non profit Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum as our sole sponsor for the festival, and 2022 was our first festival as partners.  We are no longer affiliated with the San Diego Bluegrass Society, or the North County Bluegrass and Folk Club.  We look forward to many years of bringing you a quality festival like those in the past. So, that being said, some of the emails and other communication may look a little different as we start to use different programs.  Our website is still the same, www.summergrass.net.  There you should find all the answers to questions about the festival.  At present, we are working on completing the band line up and other festival information you’ll have questions on.
