After 25 years of paying off their loan for the purchase of Vista Cascade Senior Resident Owned Mobile Home Park, residents will hold a gala Mortgage Burning Celebration on Saturday, September 12, at the park clubhouse.

Residents banded together to buy the 144-space park, at 1600 East Vista Way, Vista, when the former owner decided to sell it in 1990.  Purchase of the 17.3 acre park has allowed residents to control monthly fees, park maintenance and landscaping, and to make group decisions through a board of directors and various committees.

A management company assists in overseeing the budget and other financial and legal aspects of running the park. The luau-themed, invitation-only celebration will include, along with the formal Mortgage Burning Ceremony, music by the Billy Harper Band and a gourmet meal featuring seafood and other entrees and special desserts.  The board of directors and residents who have lived in the park throughout the term of the mortgage will participate in the ceremony.
