momhighschoolBeloved mother, sister, daughter & friend, Nancy Wolfe-Andrews, passed away May 15th, after her courageous battle with cancer.

Nancy was born in Gallup, New Mexico, her father worked for the Sante Fe Railroad, before they eventually settled in San Bernardino. Her mother Amanda “Francis” Franklin, was from El Monte originally. Her father “Les” was from Pennsylvania. Her mother remarried and moved Nancy and her two brothers Donald and Gerald to Vista, when she was in junior high.

She graduated from Vista High in 1953. Nancy was a majorette for the Vista High School marching band, of which she is depicted in a wall mural, painted in the historical district of downtown Vista. She was a very popular girl at Vista High and during that time met her future husband, Don Andrews, who went to Oceanside/Carlsbad High (as it was known at the time).

Together they had 5 children and settled in Vista. They later divorced, and she never remarried. She was an extraordinary mother, who raised all five of her children, Mark, Jeff, Daren, Bardee & Bret by herself, as a brave, strong, single mother. She was very loving, generous, artistic, and full of life.

Nancy was very prolific with arts & crafts, which she sold at craft fairs around San Diego County. She also very clever with hand made bears. Many in the area still have a collection of the many different things the created and made by hand, especially Christmas decorations.

She is survived by her brother Gerald, her children Mark, Jeff, Daren and Bardee, and her grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Wyatt, Charlotte, Ava, Henry and Chloe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Francis, her brother Donald Wolfe of Vista and her youngest son Bret Andrews.

She will be greatly missed by her family and many dear friends. A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held June 18th at North Coast Calvary Chapel, in Carlsbad. 11am. Her ashes will be spread at sea. Those wishing to attend should contact Mark Andrews
