Vista, CA — Vista Nonprofit chosen to compete for bonus funds being gifted by the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open, San Diego’s PGA TOUR event.
Imagine having 200+ kids to care for and plan futures for. That’s what local nonprofit, New Haven Youth and Family Services (NH) does every year. They transform the lives of hundreds of at-risk youth throughout Southern California through mental health programs, Therapeutic Behavioral Services, transitional living support, daily student curriculum, and a 24/7 residential treatment program in multiple residences throughout North County San Diego.
New Haven believes in new beginnings. Since 1967, every year they have provided hundreds of at-risk youth the
tools necessary to successfully transition into adulthood, reunify with their families and return back to their
home community. New Haven youth learn life and teamwork skills in culinary classes. They gain real world
experience managing a student-run business in wood shop. Highly structured classroom education helps
them develop crucial social and life skills. While mental health programs and Therapeutic Behavioral
services teach them healthy communication and coping mechanisms.
For the fourth year New Haven has been selected by The Century Club of San Diego the nonprofit that manages the
Farmers Insurance Open (San Diego’s PGA TOUR event) as one of 6 San Diego nonprofits to participate in
their Champions for Youth program (CFY). Like New Haven, Farmers Insurance and The Century Club of San
Diego also believe in new beginnings. Their annual Campaign supports at-risk and underserved youth in the
San Diego community.
The more funds raised and the more people engaged with during the two month (November 30, 2021 to
January 30, 2022) Champions For Youth Campaign will help New Haven win a bigger portion of the $285,000
Farmers Insurance is gifting to the six nonprofits this year. Last year about 550 donors helped New Haven raise a
total of almost $175,000 through fundraising and bonus funds gifted by the 2021 Farmers Cares Bonus Pool.
100% of funds raised and bonus funds gifted will benefit at-risk youth in San Diego.
