David Willauer — Two local North County Athletes made headlines in college basketball on Friday February 19, 2021.

In a Big West Men’s Conference battle UC Riverside defeated new Big West Conference UCSan Diego by a 81-75 score. San Marcos alum Mikey Howell scored 3 points for the Tritons of UCSD.

In the Women’s Pac 12 contest the Lady Huskies of the University of Washington defeated the Lady Utes of Utah 78-61. Mission Hills alum Kayla Rooks scored 9 for the Lady Huskies of Washington .
