Oceanside Fire on Loretta

oceansidefirelogoThe Oceanside Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire this afternoon located at 1311 Loretta. The first units on scene found the garage to be fully involved in fire. While firefighters attacked the fire in the garage, additional crews searched the house for the residents. The residents were out of the house but firefighters were able to rescue the family dog during their search. The fire was declared under control within 20 minutes but firefighters were still extinguishing hot spots an hour later. The fire destroyed the garage and damaged several vehicles but damage to the living area was mainly caused by smoke. The fire is currently under investigation. No injuries were reported on this fire. Damage is estimated at $50,000.
