Oceanside Sunset Market Hosts Annual Authors Night

Oceanside, CA. — January, 2022: Come meet your local authors on Jan. 20 at Authors Night at the Sunset Market. Oceanside area writers representing a variety of literary genres will be at the Downtown Oceanside street fair to sign and sell their work from 5-8 p.m. next Thursday. They look forward to meeting with the public and sharing their literary vision and expanse of work.

About the Sunset MarketFeaturing up to 200 merchants and spanning four city blocks, MainStreet Oceanside’s Sunset Market is San Diego County’s top weekly food and music street fair. Every Thursday from 5-9 p.m., thousands of residents and visitors alike gather here to enjoy hot food from around the world, gourmet goodies and desserts, eclectic shopping and live entertainment. Located on Pier View Way west of Coast Highway in Downtown Oceanside since 2007, this free, family-friendly event also features Dorothy’s KidZone with children’s activities. Larry Balma Co-founder of Tracker Trucks and TransWorld Skateboarding, O’sider Larry Balma created the first modern skateboard truck in 1975. In “Tracker – Forty Years of Skateboard History,” Balma shares photos and stories from the staff, riders and photographers who made Tracker a skateboarding icon.

Amy Forsythe Award-winning multimedia journalist and military veteran, Amy Forsythe is the author of “Heroes Live Here: A Tribute to Camp Pendleton Marines Since 9/11.” Forsythe served nearly 18 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and is currently serving in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a public affairs officer at Camp Pendleton. 

Michelle Ann Hollstein Michelle Ann Hollstein is the author of the Fatal Reaction series, the Vienna Rossi Paranormal Mysteries, the Ms. Aggie Underhill Mysteries and the nonfiction series Who Says You Can’t Paint? She resides here in Southern California with her two children and her two spoiled kitties.

R.D. Kardon One of San Diego Magazine’s Five San Diego Authors to Read, Robin “R.D.” Kardon had a 12-year flying career that took her all over the world. Her first novel, “Flygirl,” was released in 2019, followed in 2020 by “Angel Flight,” Book No. 2 of The Flygirl Series.

Alexa Kingaard Alexa Kingaard was born in and has lived most of her life in the San Diego area. Kingaard has written two novels, “Keep Forever,” highlighting the collateral damage of post-traumatic stress disorder, and “My Name Is Rose,” a story of her generation.

Russell N. Low A physician with a passion for discovery and storytelling, Low discovered a 1903 Hong family photograph that sparked a decades-long search for the stories behind it. The stories are presented in his book “Three Coins,” which has been featured on the History Channel and more.

Brae Wyckoff Brae Wyckoff, an award-winning author born and raised in San Diego, has published 11 books. Wyckoff is currently the director of an international writing organization called Kingdom Writers Association.
