Vista, CA — Hope Highlights – As a Case Manager at Operation HOPE-North County, I am privileged to help our clients develop specific plans toward their pathway to independence. Our staff is encouraged to be creative and innovative in developing ideas that would strengthen the program. Early this year, Aeriell Woodhams, Community Engagement Coordinator, and I conceived and pitched the idea of a food pantry to assist our Alumni who graduate from the program. With the support of, Lizeth Ma, Director of Programs, we brainstormed, planned and implemented a 30-day trial.
PANTRY OF HOPE opened its doors on February 4, 2020 with the goal of providing nutritious food to our former clients. This program ensures that we stay connected and supports their ongoing goals of independence and sustainability.
Our initial collaboration with Boudin Bakery and Feeding San Diego helped launch the program. Today, we also partner with San Diego Food Bank, US Foods and the Oceanside Kitchen Collaborative. In addition to our Alumni families, we also offer food to others in the community through referrals from our community partners.
Since our launch, OPERATION HOPE-NORTH COUNTY HAS PROVIDED OVER 8,000 POUNDS OF FOOD TO MORE THAN 1,000 INDIVIDUALS.
On behalf of the entire team, THANK YOU for your continued support!
