David Willauer -San Marcos, CA — The Palomar Comets baseball team improve their record to 2-1 on the season on Cameron Rowles who went 3 for 4 in the game hit a solo home run to tie the game at 6-6 as they defeated Glendale College by a 9-7 score. Gavin Kinney is the winner for the Comets.
The Palomar Comets softball team defeated Pasadena City by an 8-4 score. Ryenne Staley went 1 for 2 with a single and 2 rbi’s for the 3-0 Lady Comets. Catalina Aguilar gets the win at 2-0 for Palomar.
In Men’s College Basketball the Spartans of Mira Costa snapped the Palomar Comets 3 game winning streak as they won by a 61-56 score. Lamont Couch led the Spartans with 14 points as their record improves to 14-9, 13 each by Marcus Foster and Dirk Helaire. Palomar at 16-6 was led by Anthony Brewer with 22, 11 by Anthony Smith and 10 by Jacob Durham.
In Women’s College Basketball the Lady Comets of Palomar as 21-2 behind the 16 point performance by Nikki Mayoral, 14 points by Aaliyah Taylor, 12 by Melena Bland and 10 by Tiaja Bennett as they defeated the Lady Griffins of Grossmont College by a 85-25 score.
