Suze Diaz  — Vista, CA …Have you ever wanted to take that leap, make the jump and do what you have always dreamed of? Bust out of the comfort zone and do what the heart desires? Quit your job, get in the car, load up the dog and hit the road? On this past sunny Sunday afternoon with musical vibes on a high note, Vista’s Aztec Brewery showcased one person who did just that: Touring Nashville Recording Artist, Singer and Songwriter Pamela Jean Unlimited. A Minnesota native (who was also a San Diego local for 8 years), Pamela Jean is currently on a 17-city, five-states tour, aptly named the “Follow The Sun” Tour, which started in Spokane, WA on January 25, 2019 and continues throughout California and Arizona.

Aztec Brewing Company is one of Vista’s mainstays and home of many well-crafted, award-winning beer creations. In operation since 2011, the brewery uses choice malts and high quality hops to give patrons the opportunity to savor the flavors and enjoy. In addition to being a favorite place for locals to gather, Aztec also is a hot spot for live music, music workshops, information presentations and karaoke. All kinds of genres are represented in their live music shows and there is an Open Mic Night on Thursdays for local musicians to get up on stage and perform. It’s also  a family-friendly and dog-friendly venue!

It’s been an incredible, interesting and fantastic journey for Pamela Jean so far: traveling on the road with her sweet-natured pup of three years, Bella (who also serves as “Head of Security” and takes her job seriously); meeting old friends at shows and meeting fans from Instagram and Facebook.  With deep rich, sultry, and crystal clear vocals, Pamela Jean started her two-hour set with a wonderful rendition of Toby Keith’s “Should Have Been A Cowboy” following with a dynamic version of Tom Petty’s “An American Girl”.  In between songs, Pamela Jean’s warm and friendly nature interacted with the audience as she shared jokes and stories of enjoying Southern California’s warm weather after living in Idaho and traveling in Washington, Oregon and Northern California. With a mixture of genres of songs such as Guns and Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, Florida Georgia Lines’ “Cruise”, Darius Rucker’s “Wagon Wheel” and even a fun, lively version of “Kiss The Girl” from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”; Pamela Jean performed with style and grace, passion and full of heart. Her creative version of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues” gives long-time Cash fans a new appreciation of the classic tune. To the delight of the audience, Pamela Jean performed an assortment of her original songs including “Whiskey Wasted”, “Single in Sacramento” and “Gemineyes” for which the video of the song is featured on her website and was played live on Fox 28 Spokane, WA and K102 Country in Minnesota.

With sincere lyrics full of relatable feelings, Pamela Jean’s music speaks to the soul.

What started as fleeing an abusive relationship ended up acting as the catalyst for her quitting her job and putting the actions into motion for living the dream that she has been working towards as a touring musician on the road. Her slogan “Pedal to the Metal” is specifically designed to inspire people to be brave and have the courage to leave their abusive ties and go after their dreams and never look back. To further ensure her support to those in these situations, 10% of all proceeds made through her music go to a program dear to her heart that helps victims of domestic violence. Priest River Ministries-Advocates for Women (http://prmafw.org/) is a faith-based non-profit organization in Priest River, Idaho. Their mission is to offer hope to women and children in crisis by providing them with guidance, support, advocacy, education and shelter.

With two CDs under her belt, “Searching for Utopia” and “Slip Away”, Pamela Jean has plans to head back into the studio in Nashville to record her third album. A Go Fund Me account has been established for friends and fans that would like to donate toward the production of this next installment of great music. As an added bonus, each person who donates will also be receiving digital tracks when completed!

This shining star should be kept an eye on as her future is looking bright! As one of the last songs performed, Pamela Jean’s inspired version of Whitesnake’s “Here I Go Again” brought new meaning to the lyrics; a determination to keep on living the dream on her terms and living her best life….”I Ain’t Wasting No More Time….”
