Join this talented youth cast as they present a delightful theatrical rendition of the classic children’s story, climbing aboard a Giant Peach at Patio Playhouse, Oct. 9 through 25.
Escondido, CA – (October 1, 2015) Patio Playhouse Community and Youth Theater is proud to present James and the Giant Peach, an enchanting youth theater production based on the book by Roald Dahl and adapted for the stage by David Wood. The public is invited to attend this delightful and stirring rendition of the classic children’s tale featuring a talented and vibrant young cast. The 3-week run will begin Friday, October 9 and play through Sunday, October 25, with Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8 p.m. and afternoon performances on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
Synopsis: Follow James, a young orphan boy, as he escapes from a dreary life ruled by his horrible aunts on a Giant Peach, joined by a charming crew of insect friends. As they embark on their magical adventure across the Atlantic to the Big Apple, James and his companions learn valuable life lessons about the wickedness of some, the goodness of others and the joy of friendship. James, the wise Grasshopper, the pessimistic Earthworm, the surprisingly kind Miss Spider, and the rest of the crew will entertain the entire family with their gobsmacking adventures in this enchanting play.

The cast is led by Christian Reyes and Brooks Winter as young James. Christian, a student at Mission Middle School, appeared in Disney’s Jungle Book as Baloo, Disney’s Little Mermaid as the Pilot/Ensemble, and Peter Pan as a lost boy. Brooks is appearing in his first theatrical production as an actor. He attends The Classical Academy and enjoys violin, swimming, church, and football. This dynamic James duo is joined by an incredible cast that includes: Jacob Nanquil (Old Green Grasshopper); Josh Henson (Centipede); Asali Lacy (Earthworm); Emily O’Connell (Miss Spider); and Paige Townsend (Miss Ladybug). Rounding out the cast are Sam Blackwell; Anya Ernst; Maddy Ernst; Natalie Evans; Susan Guffy; Jason Lacy; Grace Nanquil; Belle Morelock; Katie O’Connell; Peggy Schneider; Abigail Shue; Jeremiah Shue; Keila Sime; Mark Sinnott; and Bobby Villegas.
