PIZZA HUT BOOK IT! PROGRAM – READ YOUR HEART OUT PRINCIPAL CHALLENGE

WHAT: To promote reading during National Young Reader Week, Laura Smith, the Principal of Casita Center in Vista, California will read all day at school – from when the first bell rings until the last bell rings for the day!
The Principal Challenge is part of Pizza Hut BOOK IT! Program’s National Young Readers Week celebration that is an annual event co-founded by Pizza Hut and the Center for the book in the Library of Congress. One lucky elementary school principal will win 101 copies of for their library of the eighth book in the series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck which releases on November 5th. Jeff Kinney, author of the Wimpy Kid books, will personally autograph one of the books for the principal who reads their heart out.

WHERE: Casita Center MultiPurpose Room roof located at 260 Cedar Rd., Vista, CA
MORE: BOOK IT! The longest-running corporate-supported reading incentive program in the country, was originally launched by Pizza Hut in 1985. Today, the program reaches more than 680,000 classrooms and 14 million children annually. Teachers and Librarians set monthly reading goals and present students with a reading award certificate when goals are met. Students take the certificates to a Pizza Hut restaurant, where they are congratulated by a team member and given a free, one-topping Personal Pan Pizza. There is no purchase necessary and the pizza can be taken to go.
