VISTA, CA, November 18, 2014 – The Vista Chamber of Commerce held its Rising Star of the Month program on Friday November 14, 2014. Five high school seniors from local high school were honored at the monthly breakfast. The mission statement of the Rising Start of the Month is to bring the community together to honor our local high school seniors for demonstrating character, integrity, love of learning, involvement in school and community activities and/or the ability to overcome challenging life circumstances without compromising their education. The core of the Rising Star of the Month is the student who makes a difference in their home, school and community with sincerity and passion.
Honored at this breakfast were Julian Morales (Rancho Buena Vista High School), Natalie Guy (Major General Raymond Murray High School), Jose Hurtado (Guajome Park Academy), Vivian Portillo (Vista High School), Mallory Muehlbauer (Mission Vista High School).
Over 40 community, civic and business leaders gathered at Vista Entertainment Center to hear from and acknowledge these students. The ultimate goal of the program is to provide scholarships to one graduating senior from each high school that has been honored throughout the school year.
