TIS THE SEASON OF GIVING!
There is no better way to end the year than by giving back to your community!
Join the San Marcos Chamber this holiday season as we collect Hygiene Kits for Interfaith Community Services. A nonprofit organization that provides food, housing, employment, treatment, and other emergency resources for local people in crisis. Interfaith Community Services has been helping people help themselves since 1979.
Most Hygiene Kits are travel-sized items and packed into a ziplock bag, which is a great option to make the Kit waterproof and easy to distribute. Examples of Hygiene Kit items that can be included: toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower gel, deodorant, comb, razor, lip balm.
Please bring your Hygiene Kit to the Holiday Mixer or they can be dropped off at the Chamber office located at Union Cowork, 251 North City Drive, Suite 128G through December 18th.

SAN MARCOS CREEK Latest Project Updates Via Vera Cruz Concrete Pour: Construction crews are expecting to pour concrete for the Via Vera Cruz bridge foundation on Tuesday, Dec. 6. Crews will be on site at 2 a.m. to prep for the concrete pour that is currently anticipated to end on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. Concrete trucks will access Via Vera Cruz from Discovery Street after turning south on Bent Avenue from San Marcos Boulevard. Community members are encouraged to please avoid the construction area if possible. There will be no permanent shifts in traffic control as a result of this work, but please be cautious of the high volumes of concrete trucks and construction vehicles within the area. Expect construction noise during approved extended workdays (12-14 hours), and early morning lighting starting at 2 a.m. to prepare for the concrete pour. This schedule is necessary to allow the concrete to be poured and ultimately harden as required for the bridge’s future service to the community. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the San Marcos Creek team at 877-SMCREEK or 877-762-7335 or creek@san-marcos.net |
