Meet Palomar College Superintendent/President Dr. Star Rivera-Lacey. Palomar College is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this year. Hear what makes this Community College so special.

The San Marcos Chamber has partnered with 17 Chambers of Commerce to form the San Diego Business Coalition. Our goal is to educate the community and businesses about proposed policies that will negatively impact San Diegans. We are currently working to fight:

  • SANDAG’s Vehicle Mileage Tax (VMT) which voters do not get to vote on. The San Diego VMT is a pilot program that will lead to a statewide VMT for California. The only way to stop this new tax is by coming together as San Diegan’s and overwhelming our elected officials with calls and letters asking them to vote no on this new tax.
  • SANDAG’s proposed Sales Tax increase which they are working to put on ballots in 2022

Our roads are a valuable resource, and the City of San Marcos uses a specific system to determine what gets repaired, and when. Learn all about it in this new ‘State of our Streets’ video.

The City of San Marcos maintains nearly 200 miles of roadways that keep transportation running smoothly throughout our city. Watch the video to learn how our strategic Pavement Management System is used to systematically analyze and schedule street repairs rather than addressing the “worst first.”

Check out our new Pavement Management webpage to learn how our roads are repaired, the three categories of street repairs, and how you can report a road problem.
