The K16 Collaborative is a state funded program to increase the pathway of students from high school to higher ed, to the California workforce. Business, computing, and engineering programs at 13 community colleges and 4-year universities from around the San Diego region have been verified to participate in a Summer 2024 internship program. The K16 Collaborative internships program would make available approved company internships with student candidates from the verified programs at the 13 colleges and universities.

Your organization can apply to take part in the K16 Collaborative summer 2024 internship program. As you know, internships provide students with the opportunity to gain vital hands-on experience in preparation for their career launch at graduation. If approved, your organization would receive funding to hire an intern(s). The intern candidates would apply as normal, but to receive and use the funding, the intern would have to come from a verified program at one of the colleges and universities. Of course, we hope that a San Marcos student is chosen, but you would decide which candidate to pick based on qualifications, your needs, goals, etc. Achieving the overall K16 objective is the overall goal that is best for everyone.
