The 31th annual San Marcos Harvest Fest returns on Sunday, October 8th, from 9am-5pm. This lively community event will feature over 200 local businesses along with area artisans and crafters offering up great shopping! SDAC E-Track: Pitch Deconstruction
Tuesday, Sept. 26 –5:30PM-8:30PM
A pitch practice event for anyone engaged or preparing to raise funds with angel investors. Come prepared to pitch! We will have several judges and/or investors and we will do as many 1-miniute pitches as we can. You don’t need to sign up separately, just show up and be prepared to pitch. We’ll do the 1-minute round (no slides) then we’ll vote. The top 3-4 presenters will come back to do their 3-minute pitch (with slides) Then we’ll do a deeper dive on those projects. This is learn-by-doing at its best. REGISTER
SDAC E-Track: Fundamentals of Seeking Angel Investors
Tuesday, Oct. 3 @ 5:30PM-8:30PM
In this fundamentals workshop, sample decks and checklists will be shared in addition to insights on what investors expect to learn from each slide and how it influences their decision on whether or not to invest. There will also be a deep dive into the type and purpose of each funding round and financial instruments, and impact on ownership on cap table. Also, pros and cons of alternative types of funding. In this workshop, we will be discussing how to craft the ask and develop a traction slide that makes sense. We will cover creating milestones, forecasts, and calculating costs tied to business model, funding required, use of funds, timeline, valuation, and exit strategy. REGISTER
