During the month of October the San Marcos Chamber will partner with the North County Food Bank and join businesses and organizations across the North County region to help “Scare Away Hunger” by collecting jars of peanut butter for local children and families in need.

Why Peanut Butter? Peanut butter is an excellent source of protein for children and families. It’s popular with kids, shelf-stable and one jar can provide more than 12 sandwiches.

Peanut butter is very expensive for the Food Bank to purchase. That’s why this year’s peanut butter food drive will be instrumental in helping stock the Food Bank’s shelves with this nutrient-rich superfood for local families in need.

Who benefits from the donations? Did you know? 1 in 5 children faces food insecurity in North County. All donations will be distributed to North County families in need through the Food Bank’s direct food distributions and through our nonprofit partners’ hunger relief programs.

Wynston’s Ice Cream and North City have collaborated to gift 1 free ice cream scoop for every person that donates a 32oz jar (or larger) of peanut butter at San Marcos Chamber Office (While supplies last!)

You can drop off peanut butter at the San Marcos Chamber office, 251 North City Drive, Suite 128G. Thanks you for helping us “Scare Away Hunger”.
