San Marcos,CA –On June 17, 2020, at approximately 2:56 a.m., deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, San Marcos Station Traffic Division, responded to a report of black Dodge Dakota pickup truck which collided into a brick wall that was positioned in the center median on N. Las Posas Road, south of the intersection of Avenida Azul, in the city of San Marcos.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it was determined that the vehicle was traveling northbound on N. Las Posas Road when the vehicle left the roadway colliding with the brick wall. The 68-year-old adult male driver, who was the solo occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased on scene.
It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision, at this time. The San Marcos Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
