San Marcos Hike & Annual Trails Day–
7-MILE HIKE -Join us for a challenging 7-mile hike with more than 1,000 feet of elevation gain to Double Peak Park via the Cima Loop Trail and La Plaza Drive.
1-MILE HIKE -A 1-mile interpretive walk will feature the flora and fauna of the Discovery Creek Trails. We will have a handful of vendors, and festivities at Lakeview Park!

SDMBA KIDS BIKE COURSE -A San Diego Mountain Bike Association youth bike pump track will be available between 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Meeting location: Lakeview Park, 650 Foxhall Drive, San Marcos.
6-MILE EQUESTRIAN TROT -A 6-mile equestrian trot will also be offered starting from the Ridgeline Trailhead.
Meeting location: Ridgeline Trailhead Parking Lot (across from Double Peak School), 102 San Elijo Rd., San Marcos.
Saturday, June 3 • Free -Sign-in starts at 8 a.m. with festivities beginning at 9 a.m.

Summer Craft Sale
Vendors will sell handmade crafts and gifts.
$10 non–refundable vendor fee for one 6-foot table. You can purchase a table at the Senior Activity Center Front Desk or online at the link below.

Family Night Craft Pick-up
Rock Photo Holder

Turn an ordinary rock into a unique photo holder. Kits include rocks, paint, wire and beads. Use it to show off your favorite memory or give as a gift for Father’s Day!
Family Night activities bring families together. Crafts/activities are intended for children ages three to ten. Each On-The-Go kit contains one craft or activity. Adjust quantity when registering for each child participating.

Open Recreation Swim is for individuals or families to enjoy the pool and swim. Please visit

Please note: if the projected high temperature for the day is below 60°F, or there is thunder and lightning, open Rec Swim will be cancelled that day. We will remain open during rain.

Lap Swim
Purchase a Splash Pass membership for year-round access, or pay a drop-in fee for an intense or easy workout. Pool is heated and outdoors. Please bring your own equipment.

The Worlds Largest Swim Lesson is a nationally coordinated event where kids are taught about water safety on the same day around the country.

Recreation Scholarships Available!

The Friends of San Marcos Parks & Recreation have donated $10,000 this for recreation scholarships! These scholarships are available through the City of San Marcos Parks & Recreation and are contingent upon meeting certain financial eligibility requirements. To learn more and to apply visit

Park Shelter Reservations Available
The City has 21 designated reservable park picnic shelters at 12 different City parks that may be reserved to host your next celebration. A reservation must be made for groups of 25 people or more and groups who wish to have a inflatable or pony/petting zoo. Groups under 25 people can still make a reservation or choose to use the park on a first come first serve basis.
Reservable park picnic shelters can be reserved online a minimum of 8 days in advance and at the Parks and Recreation office 4 days in advance of your desired date. Reservations are paid in full at the time of booking. For more information, please visit
