American Red Cross Blood Drive
The Red Cross is experiencing the worst blood shortage in over a decade. The dangerously low blood supply levels have forced some hospitals to defer patients from major surgery, including organ transplants. Your donation is desperately needed.

Register in our Fall Esports Season!
Step 1: Register for an account at www.ggleagues.com
Step 2: Join the San Marcos Parks & Recreation club.
Step 3: Build or join a team if you are competing in a team-based league.
Step 4: Purchase your esports Season Pass through our club page.
Step 5: Sign up for one or more leagues.
Step 6: Compete against other players to win fun prizes.
Player safety is of the upmost importance to us. While competing in a league hosted by GGLeagues the match chat will be monitored by GGLeague staff. If there are ever any safety concerns while a match is being played, players can summon GGLeague staff to step in and moderate.
There are three age divisions to make sure you or your child are competing with other players their same age and skill level. Youth 8-12, Teen 13-18, and Adult 18+.
San Marcos Hike
Join us for the Heart of the City hike. A challenging 8-mile hike to the northern city limits. This hike will take in urban trails that follow the Rail Trail east and visit Hollandia and Mulberry Parks.

Family Night Pick-up
Family Night activities bring families together. Crafts/activities are intended for children ages three to ten. Each On-The-Go kit contains one craft or activity. Adjust quantity when registering for each child participating.
Mix ingredients together to make moon sand. Supplies include an air tight container for storing moon sand and a sculpting toy.

Double Peak Challenge
Off-road racers will set out from San Elijo Hills Neighborhood Park and begin their 1,176 foot gain up to Double Peak’s summit at 1,558 feet above sea level, winding along beautiful hillside trails with amazing views.
Race proceeds will benefit the San Marcos community through two important non-profit organizations: Friends of San Marcos Parks & Recreation and The Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos.
$65 10k registration includes race entry, wood medal, shirt, socks,
access to race expo and complimentary beer for those 21 and older.
$35 5k registration includes race entry, wood medal, socks, and access to race expo.
Kid’s Trot is free to register but parent/guardian must complete waiver for child to participate.

Swimming lessons save lives! Lesson schedules are subject to change. Please click the registration button below for the most up to date listing of classes.
Memberships are available for purchase or drop-in for an intense workout or easy fitness. Pool is heated and outdoors. Please bring your own equipment.
MahrKay will guide you through a warm-up and progressive core workouts with & without supplied equipment, finishing with a cool down time. The class is all about encouragement and motivation blended with body toning, balance and strength-building for healthy life goals.

Recreation Scholarships Available!
The Friends of San Marcos Parks & Recreation have donated $5,000 this for recreation scholarships! These scholarships are available through the City of San Marcos Parks & Recreation and are contingent upon meeting certain financial eligibility requirements. To learn more and to apply visit
Park Shelter Reservations Available
The City has 21 designated reservable park picnic shelters at 12 different City parks that may be reserved to host your next celebration. A reservation must be made for groups of 25 people or more and groups who wish to have a inflatable or pony/petting zoo. Groups under 25 people can still make a reservation or choose to use the park on a first come first serve basis.
Reservable park picnic shelters can be reserved online a minimum of 8 days in advance and at the Parks and Recreation office 4 days in advance of your desired date. Reservations are paid in full at the time of booking.
