Tuesday’s Virtual Open House to Provide Information about Proposed Improvements in South County Communities
WHEN: Tuesday, June 22 – 6 – 8 p.m.
WHERE: Attend the virtual open house via Zoom
WHAT On Tuesday, June 22, SANDAG will host the third in a series of six virtual open houses to share information about the draft 2021 Regional Plan, the blueprint for the future of transportation in the San Diego region. This open house will focus on proposed improvements in communities in South San Diego County.
The draft 2021 Regional Plan will enhance quality of life for everyone in San Diego County by making the region’s transportation system faster, fairer, and cleaner than ever before.
The SANDAG virtual open houses will give residents the opportunity to hear from SANDAG Board Members and staff about the benefits of the draft 2021 Regional Plan in their communities and provide public comment.
Six open houses are being held this month to give people in each part of the region an overview of how the plan will serve each community. Attendees are encouraged to join the meeting focused on improvements closest to their residence.
Future meetings include:
- East County – Thursday, June 24, 6-8 p.m.
- North County Inland Monday, June 28 6-8 p.m.
- Central San Diego Wednesday, June 30, 6-8 p.m.
Spanish interpretation will be provided at every meeting.
The virtual open houses will be hosted via Zoom and registration is not required. Recordings will be available in English and Spanish following each open house on the SANDAGmeetings YouTube channel. Input on the draft 2021 Regional Plan can be submitted through August 6 online or via phone, mail, or fax. More details can be found at sandag.org/2021RegionalPlan.
SANDAG’s Mission …We are the regional agency that connects people, places, and innovative ideas by implementing solutions with our unique and diverse communities.
SANDAG’s Vision – Pursuing a brighter future for all
Our Commitment to Equity… We hold ourselves accountable to the communities we serve. We acknowledge we have much to learn and much to change; and we firmly uphold equity and inclusion for every person in the San Diego region. This includes historically underserved, systemically marginalized groups impacted by actions and inactions at all levels of our government and society.
We have an obligation to eliminate disparities and ensure that safe, healthy, accessible, and inclusive opportunities are available to everyone. In 2021, SANDAG will develop an equity action plan that will inform how we plan, prioritize, fund, and build projects and programs; frame how we work with our communities; define how we recruit and develop our employees; guide our efforts to conduct unbiased research and interpret data; and set expectations for companies and stakeholders that work with us.
We are committed to creating a San Diego region where every person who visits, works, and lives can thrive.
COVID-19 Response … To protect the health and safety of everyone, SANDAG offices are closed to the public. Most employees are teleworking to provide essential services and continue progress on critical regional projects. We continue to monitor COVID-19 in the region and follow guidance from the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency.
