Sacramento, CA — Senator Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) issued the following statement on the outcome of today’s Assembly Suspense File hearing relative to her effort to make insulin affordable:
“I am disappointed SB 473, my bill to cap the out-of-pocket cost for insulin to $35 a month, was held in the Assembly Committee on Appropriations. The decision by Assembly Democratic leadership to hold the bill blocked meaningful relief for millions of California residents struggling to pay for the rising cost of insulin. This was a missed opportunity for the California State Legislature to accomplish what Washington D.C. failed to do.”
Senator Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) represents the 36th Senate District in the California Legislature, which covers South Orange County, North San Diego County, and Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
