Sacramento, CA – Senator Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) issued the following statement on Assemblymember Kalra’s decision not to move forward with AB 1400, the California Guaranteed Health Care for All Act.
“I am pleased AB 1400 will not be moving forward this year. The bill would have forced millions of Californians to give up their current healthcare coverage for a government-run system that would have required billions of dollars in increased taxes. Unfortunately, this bad idea will likely return in a future bill. When it does, I will continue to strongly oppose.”

Senator Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) represents the 36th Senate District in the California Legislature, which covers South Orange County, North San Diego County, and Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
