First Store in the San Diego Area Opens in Vista

Vista, CA –Everytable has a mission to make fresh, nutritious food accessible to everyone, everywhere. And whether it is their 40 new locations planned for 2022 or their zip code calculator that prices meals based on particular area’s median household income, this mission-driven food company is hungry to make an impact in neighborhoods in need.

“We believe that access to fresh, nutritious food is a human right. While there is an abundance of grocery stores and amazing restaurants throughout San Diego, we recognize that good food is still unaffordable for many,” said Sam Polk, CEO and founder of Everytable. “Few cities rival the San Diego food scene, and we’re excited to partner with local farmers, chefs and food justice activists to make good food accessible to all.”

The Los Angeles-based company was founded in 2016 and rose in popularity after being featured on the hit television show, Shark Tank. Six years later they are on track to grow…fast. Soomi Jo Wen, Everytable’s vice president of construction and design, said that the Vista location, their first location to open outside of the Los Angeles and Orange County, is their first store in San Diego. They have another location in Chula Vista slated to open very soon. Expansion plans also include east coast locations in places such as New York City.

“Everytable goes to both affluent and underserved communities that don’t have access to nutritious foods, also known as food desserts,” said Wen. “We cater nutritious, fresh, made from scratch food at the fast-food type of price.”

The company’s chef-prepared, individually wrapped meal options include a smoky Spanish rice and shrimp, a rotini Bolognese, and a Thai red curry with veggies, all starting at $8.35 each. With options such as delivery, grab-and-go storefronts, subscriptions, and Smartfridges for companies, apartments and campuses, accessibility means choices. With rapid growth in mind, Jo Wen said Vista met all their needs.

“We were able to connect with Kevin Ham, who really helped us and our project managers figure out what the process is in the City of Vista. He also helped us push through the permitting process,” said Wen. “In [large cities], you can get lost in the mix. With Vista, they were able to hold our hand through the process. Having someone answer the phone or answer an email when we have a question was a big help.”

“Everytable is a great fit for the Vista community,” said Ham, who just retired as Vista’s economic development director. “Everytable is another first for Vista and helps support healthy eating at an affordable price. Vista has shown that it appreciates good, high-quality food with heart, and Everytable checks all of those boxes.”

On March 11, Everytable held the ribbon cutting for the Vista location located at 620 Hacienda Dr. For more information about Everytable, its Vista store and future openings in San Diego, visit everytable.com.
