New learning center will strengthen organization’s work to help families permanently overcome homelessness and achieve self-sufficiency

WHAT:
Solutions for Change will celebrate the grand opening of The Chen Center for Transformational Impact, a newly redesigned flagship classroom created to strengthen the organization’s efforts to solve family homelessness through education, workforce development, personal growth and long-term economic independence.
The center transforms what was previously a conference room into a modern, high-performance learning environment for Solutions Academy, the organization’s comprehensive 700-day program for parents experiencing homelessness. The program combines housing with education, employment training, career development, financial literacy, parenting and relationship skills, personal development and individualized support.
The event will include an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, refreshments, tours of the facility and information about additional campus improvements and upcoming initiatives.
WHY:
Solutions for Change works to address the underlying causes of family homelessness rather than providing only temporary relief. Its model equips parents with the skills, resources and support needed to secure employment, maintain stable housing, support their children and achieve lasting independence.
Since its founding in 1999, Solutions for Change has provided transformational services to more than 4,700 parents and children. Through Solutions Academy and its related workforce-development programs, the organization helps families break cycles of homelessness, poverty and dependency that can continue across generations.
The Chen Center is a central component of Solutions for Change’s effort to modernize Solutions Academy, strengthen its curriculum and create a more structured and measurable learning environment for participating families.
