PAAC Votes o Expand Palomar Airport
Dear Neighbors – WHO REPRESENTS THE COMMUNITY? This past Thursday, the “Palomar Airport Business Association” (aka Palomar Airport Advisory Committee – PAAC), voted 7-0 to recommend an 800-foot runway expansion at Palomar, setting up the Airport to be a D-III airport (think HUGE jets). If built, Palomar’s runway would be equivalent in length to John Wayne – and attract the same planes that fly in and out of Orange County.
We expect Palomar Airport would offload San Diego International by hosting larger corporate jets and freight – at all hours of the day and night because there are NO mandatory quiet hours. Commercial service would most likely remain in San Diego, where the County has allocated over $6.6 BILLION for airport upgrades, to be paid for by the airlines and passenger fees…… Terminal 1 construction is slated to begin in a few weeks.
The PAAC is made up of 9 members…. Only 2 are NOT associated with the aviation industry. Clearly this group does not represent the interests of the community. So, who does?
Please join the more than 1400 residents of North County who have signed C4FA’s petition to Stop Palomar Airport Expansion. Thank you if you were one of those who have participated already. If not, please don’t wait.
Here’s the link to the petition:
Please ask your friends and family sign up for our news, follow us on social media, share ….. and donate to C4FA if you are able:

Finally, please mark your calendars for Wed, Nov 3rd as the tentative date for the Board of Supervisors to discuss and decide the fate of Palomar Airport. Speakers representing regular constituents are going to be needed……the Aviation Community is already stacking the deck!
And, as always, if you have any questions, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your continued support. Your Neighbors @ C4FA
