As a proud US Navy Veteran, my deep care for our veterans and the military community stems from the invaluable lessons I learned during my four years of service. It’s the Navy that first brought me to San Diego County, and, like so many of our Veterans, I stayed and now call it home. Veteran’s Day holds a special place in my heart, serving as a time for reflection on the principle that resonates profoundly with me – the power of synergy.
In the military, collaboration and teamwork take precedence, emphasizing a collective approach to accomplishing missions. It’s about “us” rather than “me”. This spirit is fundamental as to why our nation stands as a beacon of excellence. We prioritize taking care of one another and never leaving anyone behind.
It’s an honor to advocate for our veteran community. I take pride in the multitude of resources available in San Diego County. Our County is home to numerous non-profits supporting veterans and their families in diverse and comprehensive ways. Should you seek support, my office is always open, and you can reach out via email at Jim.Desmond@sdcounty.ca.gov or by calling (619) 531-5555.
