North County Veteran Stand Down
This weekend was the 5th annual North County Veteran Stand Down. Nearly 200 homeless veterans received the care and attention they deserve thanks to an incredible team of volunteers and community service organizations.

Rental Assistance for Small Landlords
The County of San Diego’s Rental Assistance for Small Landlords (RASL) program helps eligible small-scale, independent, property owners who are experiencing significant rental payment shortfalls from their tenants due to COVID-19 impacts.
The program will assist landlords who are not able to access any other source of governmental COVID-19 financial assistance that would compensate for lost rental income. The County will compensate rental arrears accumulated from April 2020 for a maximum of $15,000 per award.

Neighborhood Healthcare

Neighborhood Healthcare is a non-profit community health organization that serves San Diegans with the resources they need to improve health and happiness. This past weekend was their gala, where they helped raise money for their program.
I want to give a special shoutout to Maxine Kretizer, who was presented with the Servant Leader Award for her years of outstanding work volunteering her time to help those in need! Congratulations Neighborhood Healthcare and Maxine!
Small Home Kitchens
At last week’s Board meeting, I was happy to support and vote in favor of moving forward with plans to legalize microenterprise home kitchen operations (MEHKOs). The ordinance would create economic opportunities for small-scale, home-cooking operations and it would also legalize food businesses that have been making and selling food from home illegally.
