Supervisor Jim Desmond -Free Emergency Pet Kit

An important part of being prepared in an emergency is making sure that you have a plan for your pet. Over 60% of San Diego County residents have a pet and we want to do all we can to help.

On October 8, my office along with the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services will be handing out free Emergency Pet Kits.

We will have a total of 150 cat emergency kits and 350 dog emergency kits. So if you want to ensure you get a kit, arrive early!

When: Saturday, October 8 from 9-11 am.

Where: Woodland Park (671 Woodland Parkway. San Marcos, CA 92069)

We all love our pets, but an important part of living in San Diego is being prepared in an emergency. These kits come with all necessities you need in case you get evacuated. 

Dog Kits include:

  • Large EP-FLEX Pouch – Red
  • Mainstay Emergency Drinking Water Pouch – 4.22oz (x6)
  • Emergency Dog Food – 8oz (x2)
  • Yellow Lightstick – 12 Hour
  • Dog Collar
  • Dog Leash
  • Dog Waste Bag – Roll of 20 (x4)
  • Collapsible Food/Water Pet Bowl
  • Pet Alert Window Cling
  • Pet Emergency Information Card with Disaster Tips
  • Emergency Survival Blanket
  • Double-Sided Name Card

Cat Kits include:
